Test Format

The PTE Academic is divided into three main parts:

  •  Speaking & Writing (54–67 minutes)
    1. Speaking: Personal introduction, read aloud, repeat sentence, describe image, re-tell lecture, answer short questions.
    2. Writing: Summarize written text, essay.
  • Reading (29–30 minutes)
    1. Multiple-choice (single and multiple answers)
